Cabinet Shelf — What We Offer

What Families Receive

One Indexed Archive

All your family's documents gathered into one physical and digital home — labelled, ordered, and straightforward to hand to whoever needs them next.

Bilingual Glossary

A printed reference in English and Bahasa Malaysia so that every family member can read the terminology used in their own papers without confusion.

Written Gap List

A clear note of which items appear absent from the collection, so families know what to locate before meeting with a solicitor, estate planner or other professional.

Digital Mirror

A scanned copy of the assembled archive stored on media the family owns and controls — no third-party cloud accounts created on the family's behalf.

Practitioner Directory

A directory of registered solicitors, estate planners and other qualified professionals serving the Klang Valley, so families can take organised papers straight to the right desk.

Clear Scope, No Overreach

Vellumkin records and organises. We do not interpret documents, give legal or financial opinions, or contact any institution on a family's behalf — a boundary we hold in writing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly does Vellumkin do?
We organise your family's existing documents — property records, photographs, correspondence and related papers — into a clear, indexed archive. We also run educational briefings explaining the vocabulary of these records. We do not read legal effect into any document, give advice of any kind, or act on your behalf with any institution.
Who typically uses the Terminology and Documents Briefing?
Families who have just received a relative's papers and are uncertain what the documents are or how they connect to one another. The session is educational and covers common document types, how records are usually held and referenced, and what each document name typically means — without interpreting the specific contents of anyone's file.
How long does the Family Archive Assembly take?
Three appointments spread across six weeks. The first appointment covers an inventory of what exists; the second structures and labels the collection; the third produces the final printed contents page, gap list and naming convention sheet. The scanned digital mirror is delivered at the close of the third appointment.
Do you handle original documents or only copies?
We work with whatever the family brings — originals and copies alike. We do not retain any documents. Everything is returned to the family at the end of each appointment, and the scanned digital mirror is the only copy we produce, which is handed directly to the family on media they control.
Can Vellumkin tell me whether a document is valid?
No. Assessing the validity, enforceability or legal effect of any document requires a qualified professional — a solicitor, estate planner or other licensed practitioner. We will note that a document exists and place it in the archive. We include a directory of registered professionals so families can take their organised papers to the appropriate desk.
Where are sessions held?
All appointments take place at our office at 26 Jalan Tun Perak, 50050 Kuala Lumpur. Please call or write ahead to schedule; walk-in appointments are not accepted. Parking is available in the nearby Maju Junction mall.
How is the pricing structured?
The Terminology Briefing is RM 470 per family group (up to four people). Family Archive Assembly is RM 1,690 for the full three-appointment programme. The Provenance and Register Programme is RM 4,110 for the four-month engagement. Prices are in Malaysian Ringgit and are inclusive of all materials and the digital mirror.
How is my family's information kept private?
We do not communicate the contents of your documents to any third party. The scanned archive is returned to you on your own media. We retain only the appointment notes needed to deliver the service, and these are held in accordance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
